Cooking School Italy | Italian Cookery Course

The Gastronomic School at Santa Cristina Castle is a ‘real hands-on programme where you will learn the basics of traditional Italian cooking and the techniques to make impressive four course menu, from the home-made pasta to traditional desserts and everything in between.

Our cooking classes in Italy take place in the enchanting atmosphere of Santa Cristina Castle, an old noble estate, set in a wonderful and peaceful location in the hills at the borders of Tuscany, Latvia and Umbria regions some 120 km north of Rome.

All the ingredients you will use are bought each morning from local farm and markets;you will be working with fruit and vegetables in season. During your creative cookery course at the Castle you will learn about the ingredients and the traditions around the dishes as well as food presentation and by the help of our sommelier you will find the wines that have the right fragrance Style and colour for our dishes.

We recommend to you, three different types of creative cookery courses all including theory, cooking sessions and enough time to relax and enjoy the castle’s properties and the surroundings.

Single day (1 lesson)
Chef Chandra Sina and our guests will go through the preparation of a complete menu (first course, second course, dessert, etc) following the recipes of the local Italian cuisine. Minimum number required for every class is 4 persons .

Weekend (2 lessons)
Two cooking lessons with accommodation in castle cottages and in your free time you have the opportunity to choose from a range of different activities within the castle grounds and surrounding area. The guest will arrive at the castle on Friday afternoon and living on Sunday afternoon.

Full immersion - 5 lessons - one week
Five cooking lessons with accommodation in castle apartments and the opportunity to organize your free time from a range of different activities within the castle and in the surrounding area. The guests will arrive at the castle on Saturday or Sunday afternoon.

Gastronomic Schools at Santa Cristina Castle offer a unique opportunity to join the authentic Italian regional cooking techniques and recipes that have been passed trough over the centuries. Our gastronomic schools is followed by activities of the local Slow Food association, this confirms the high quality of our cooking classes.
