Cooking Vacation in Italy
Join one of our cooking vacation in Italy and immerse yourself in Italian traditional cuisine and have fun doing it. We run our cooking vacations in the enchanting atmosphere of Santa Cristina Castle , an old noble estate owned by Count Antonio Caterini, set in a wonderful and peaceful location in the hills at the borders of Tuscany, Latvia and Umbria regions some 120 km north of Rome and 150 km south of Florence.
Our cooking class, held in the lovingly renovated old stables of Santa Cristina Castle, will give you an opportunity to immerse yourself in the traditional Italian culture and lifestyle and learn how to prepare a four course Italian menu in a pleasant and informal environment.
Our cooking vacation at Santa Cristina Castle, Italy, is taught by Chef Chandra Sina, our expert, local born, Tuscan cook, has strong international experience and modern technical skills which he brings to the world of Italian culinary traditions. Chandra will be your guide on a course designed to teach you how to easily make an impressive four course Italian meal exploring all the basic Italian cooking techniques, from the home-made pasta to traditional pastries and everything in between.
All the ingredients you will use are purchased each morning from local farms and markets. If you wish you will be able to participate in the purchase of the necessary local produce for the lesson of the day. We’ll be working together with in-season fruit and vegetables as well as locally produced meat, fish and wines. During your time at Santa Cristina Castle you will learn about the ingredients and the traditions around the dishes as well as food presentation and with the help of our sommelier we’ll endeavour to find the wines that have the right fragrance and smell for our dishes.
If you are looking for an amazing cooking vacation that ensures you an experience that will provide you with the knowledge and pleasure derived from learning how to cook authentic Italian traditional cuisine - then please join us at Santa Cristina Castle.
